From June 2-June 11 2017, Norman will be Artistic Director for the Saint Joe's ArstFest in Hamilton, Canada. He will be appearing in personal recitals (Brahms Piano Sonata #1) and leading Mozart's Requiem during this festival. The month of July will take Norman to Estonia, where he will perform at the Mustjala Music Festival on the island of Saaremaa. In August 2017, he will appear in Barrie (Ontario, Canada) as a solo recitalist. Norman will be travelling to Barbados in October 2017 to lead performances of the Barbados Festival Chamber Choir. On the programme will be Schubert, Harry Somers, and works by Barbadian choral composers. In May of 2018, Norman will be retiring as Artistic Director of the Cathedral Bluffs Symphony Orchestra (Toronto, Canada). Becoming Conductor Emeritus, he will continue his relationship with this widely respected orchestra.

NORMAN REINTAMM was born in Hamilton, Canada. His musical life started as a chorister at Christ’s Church Cathedral (Anglican) in the same city. Having graduated from Hillfield-Strathallan College, he went on to study music at the University of Toronto and McMaster University. Norman apprenticed with the Vancouver Chamber Choir under Jon Washburn and the Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra under Boris Brott. Norman’s postgraduate studies were done at the Royal College of Music under Sir Norman del Mar, Sir David Willcocks, and Christopher Adey. At the same time he was at the Royal College of Music, he conducted ballet performances with the Young London Ballet Company at Sadlers Wells Theatre. Returning to Canada, he guest conducted with the London Symphony Orchestra, Symphony Nova Scotia, and the Windsor Symphony Orchestra and was the Conductor and Music Director for the Toronto Pops Orchestra at Massey Hall in Toronto and Conductor of the Lyra Borealis Chamber Orchestra. In 1989, Norman left Canada for Europe, settling in Tallinn, Estonia and becoming a conductor in the Estonian National Opera and the “Vanemuine” State Theatre. While working in Estonia, he was also a coach and conductor at the Sibelius Academy Opera Department in Finland and the Head of Opera Studies at the Estonian Academy of Music. Upon leaving Estonia, Norman returned to Canada to work with the National Ballet of Canada and take the position of Conductor and Artistic Director of the Cathedral Bluffs Symphony Orchestra in Toronto. Norman is also the pianist for "TrioEstonia", which is centred in Tallinn (Estonia) and Toronto (Canada). This group is devoted to Estonian and Esto-Canadian works. In February 2015, Norman was awarded the Order of Merit for services to the Estonian people in Canada. This award was presented by the Consul-General for Estonia in Toronto. Norman has been appointed as Chorusmaster for Brott Opera (part of Brott Music Festival in Canada).
