<p>Bas Timmers is a skilled musical actor. He studied “Music theatre” at the Brabants Conservatorium (current Fontys Conservatorium) in Tilburg, where he graduated in 2000 as the very first of the very first class. During his education he played “Ross” in Macbeth and “Padre” in Man of la Mancha, both at Foundation Theater Plan in Eindhoven, and “Jesus” in Jesus Christ Superstar (Foundation Jokola).<br />After his training Bas went to work for Opus One, as “Father of Belle” in Beauty and the Beast, and the snake “Kaa” in Jungle Book. In 2003 he joined Studio 100 for the musical Sleeping Beauty, as “Count” and understudy “King”. This was his third consecutive family musical. Then it was time for something else: a sung-through musical drama abroad. It was Elisabeth (Stage Entertainment) in Stuttgart (Germany) where he made his debut as a swing and also understudied role of “Luigi Lucheni”. In 2006, Bas returned back to the Netherlands for the National Tour of My Fair Lady (Joop van den Ende Theaterproducties). In this classic musical he joined the ensemble and was understudy “Jamie”.<br /><br />In the summer of 2008 Bas resided in Austria for the world premiere of the Sommerfestspiele Gutenstein Production “Tutanchamun”, where he created the role of “Meba”. In the autumn of that year he returned to rehearse for the musical Sunset Boulevard (Joop van den Ende Theaterproducties), where he was onstage swing and understudy “Manfred”. This musical toured the Netherlands until the summer of 2009.<br />After that Bas played in Sound of Music (V & V Entertainment), a show that toured Belgium and the Netherlands. From autumn 2010 to spring 2012 played Bas in the family musical “Kruimeltje” (Rick Engelkens Productions / Efteling Theatre), where besides understudy “Father Keijzer” he was also assistant choreographer, assistant resident director and dance captain. Then following with the role of “slijmbal” (Flotsam) in the musical The Little Mermaid. This show toured the Netherlands, and played in the Beatrix Theater in Utrecht. His next project was Wickie the Musical (Studio 100), in which he created the part of “Urobe”. This was a tour through Belgium and the Netherlands. When this production bacame a German version Bas went on tour in Germany, where he exchanged the part “Urobe” for the part of “Snorre”. After that he remained in Germany to play the part of “der Teufel” (the Devil) in the Rock-Oratorium Luther! Rebel wider willen, followed by the part of galahad in the musical Spamalot, both by the Landesbuhne Niedersachsen Nord. At the Schlossfestspiele Ettlingen Bas performed in the musical “Chicago” and the Best of Musical Gala. To return to the Landesbuhne for the part of Stelzfuß in “Black Rider, the casting of the magic bullets”. Here he also performed several solo concerts with the title “There’s no business like…..showbusiness”.<br />In 2019 Bas was soloist in the Pop-Oratorium “I Am” after which he has played the part of Charlie Chaplin in “Chaplin das Musical”.</p>
