Hayley Glickfeld Bielman began studying ballet under Joan Shelton Mason in her hometown of Wenatchee, Washington. In 2004, she earned a ballet certificate from the Washington Academy of Performing Arts Conservatory High School in Redmond, Washington; one year later she continued her studies at Western Oregon University (WOU), graduating with a Bachelors in Music with a minor in dance in 2009. Besides creating dance pieces for and performing in several student concerts during her time at Western, Ms. Glickfeld Bielman choreographed and directed two of her own opera productions – including Carmen & Don José after Bizet – initiated the WOU Composer-Choreographer Collaboration Festival, and lead the 8veU Musicians' Residence Concert Series. She also served internships at Seattle Opera, Portland Opera, Central City Opera and later at the Salzburger Landestheater. Since 2010, Ms. Glickfeld Bielman has assistant directed and stage managed opera productions at Lyric Opera Studio Weimar (Così fan tutte, Le nozze di Figaro with Damon Nestor Ploumis), Salzburger Landestheater (Narziss und Echo with Tilman Hecker, Così fan tutte with Jacopo Spirei, Werther with Jim Lucassen), Tiroler Festspiele Erl (Parsifal, die Meistersinger von Nürnberg, Tannhäuser, Rigoletto, La traviata, Il trovatore, Nabucco, and the entire Ring Cycle under Gustav Kuhn), Nürnberg Internationales Kammermusik Festspiel (Owen Wingrave with Nina Kühner), OPERN SPACE in Vienna (das Tagebuch der Anne Frank with Nina Dudek), Novoflot in Berlin (Pariser Leben with Sven Holm), and also contemporary dance productions with NETZWERK AKS in Austria (route 011, point.line.score., Variationen 1.3.7, Invocation with Andrea K. Schlehwein) and ballet with Oregon Ballet Theatre. Hayley Glickfeld Bielman founded NAC in 2013, for which she produced and directed The Just-So Stories in 2014. She continues to work as an assistant stage manager / assistant director at Portland Opera (highlights include The Difficulty of Crossing a Field with Jerry Mouwad & Hal France, and Sweeney Todd with Albert Sherman). 2017 has see her as a director / choreographer with PDX Conteporary Ballet (The Singing Butler), Ping & Woof Opera (Stabat Mater & L'Enfant et les Sortilèges), and Portland Opera To Go (The Magic Flute).
